Our authors boast diverse backgrounds and ages - even a teeny one at six years old. Each story inspires growing minds by introducing children to new ideas, teaching them about the world and their surrounds and offering a sense of relatability.

With over 20 years' experience in publishing, Karen McDermott founded KMD Books in 2019. KMD Books is the go-to publisher for thought leaders, business owners, industry leaders, innovators, and futurists. We pride ourselves in producing books that enrich the lives of our readers. Little K Books is a new division founded in 2022 by Yasmin Walter.

Total Design Freedom
Yasmin Walter and Karen McDermott met at a business awards night in Melbourne back in 2018. They stayed in touch online over the next few years, and that’s when a Facebook status changed everything. KMD Books was looking for investors to come onboard, to elevate the already successful publishing house. Yasmin and her husband, aspiring authors, took this as the universe delivering a sign.
Optimising Team Work
The first few authors that Yasmin signed were for children’s books. The demand grew for representation, and that’s how Little K Books was born. As a mother of two, Yasmin understands what children want to read and her attention to detail delivers high-quality projects. Yasmin is a multi-award-winning international entrepreneur, bestselling author of two books and a budding publisher based in Australia. Yasmin also writes as an expert and thought leader for Forbes.
